So Longo

Robert Longo is a major influence on my artwork. I have a tendency to draw figures for their forms only, with completely blank white backgrounds, specifically because when I was growing up, I was enchanted with the purity of Longo's Men In The Cities series. Cut to several decades later and others are revisiting his pivotal work. My friend Robert Geller used Longo's artwork as the inspiration for his Fall Winter 2010 collection shoot, and now Bottega Veneta's Tomas Maier brings Longo himself in to shoot the luxury brand's current campaign. YouTube's videos are no longer so small as to fit into my Blogger template here, so feel free to doubleclick on the video and watch it directly on the YouTube site.
