Mixte Company
My friend Greg and I passed by Paris fashion mecca Collette a couple of nights ago and they had a mechanically animated display of the new high-heeled sneaker collaboration between Sergio Rossi and Puma. After seeing novelty heels through the years (like the much-copied high-heeled rendition of classic men's Timberland boots a few years back) these are hardly earth-shakingly new, but they're fab fun nevertheless. I'm particularly impressed with how they incorporated the Puma downward swoosh logo so subtly, in the stitching at the heel. In muted silver, hot pink or electric blue satin with a chunky white rubber heel and sole, they come in two high heeled styles, although I personally like the laced version best. I also like the fact that they're by Sergio Rossi and Puma, a fabulously cool mix of companies if you ask me. Add on the fact that they're a Collette exclusive, and you've got yourself a really fetching brand triad. They'll cost you a cool $568 bucks with VAT, but what shoes of consequence cost less than that nowadays? Get them first - and only - at Collette in Paris.
