I Am Not A Paper Bag

In a bit of reverse ecology, the now ubiquitous designer alternatives to plastic shopping bags come full circle with trompe l'eoil ceramic 'bags' made to look like everyday paper ones. There's something appealing about these ceramic vases (in contrast to how unappealing I find the design and photo-styling of the website they're from). They're hand-rendered in the same vein as the crushed plastic cups and takeout containers cast in porcelain that we've seen everywhere else. You'd think it was a high-low aesthetic, but at $35 - 70, it's really more in just the lows. You can get them pre-creased with handles in white for $50 or less depending on your selected size, or wrinkled and brown from $35 to $70 for a larger one from Uncommon Goods, a fun but unfortunate site in desperate need of a logo and site redesign (maybe it's a good website masquerading as a bad one).
