That's Crate

When I first moved away from home, I had quite a few things that I kept in plastic milk crates. I kinda liked the utilitarian quirkiness, plus it was really good for storing a motley assortment of papers, catalogs and whatnot, since I didn't have much other furniture to speak of. So I like the fact that these collapsible plastic crates echo that rather prosaic part of my life. But these versions from The Container Store are a little more refined, and have the added feature of being collapsible, so the temporary storage can be exactly that. You don't need to commit to having crates around once the need is done because the containers themselves can be flattened and stowed away as necessary. And at less than $15 a piece (they're currently on sale for $11.99), the monetary commitment is even less than the spatial one. Available in black, white, blue, yellow and a funky multicolor version, with optional casters for rolling them around. Get them at the Container Store.
