Fall Over Again

Winter is still here but fashion is already looking to next Fall: the menswear shows have recently concluded in Europe, and they're gearing up in New York for the shows at the beginning of February. I recently got to preview the Fall 2008 collection of Robert Geller, my favorite New York menswear designer, and these pics, taken by Robert himself (of yours truly - thank goodness I'm sample size!), are the first look you'll see anywhere of his upcoming collection. Moody and brooding, but teeming with amazingly intricate details, this is the kind of collection you come to expect from this former Cloak designer, who is part of the new wave of American menswear labels, but with a look uniquely his own. He's even expanded his offerings to a selection of shoes and bags, including a complex leather number that will make you seriously reconsider using a backpack again.

I'll be posting a full review after the show on February 1st, but you get to see a preview here right now.

The coat feels a bit like Number Nine, and the backpack gives raf simons vibes, but still so good looking. If im not rocking a raf backpack I will def. try to get a hold on one of Robert Gellers, he is still my favorite designer :P cloak all the way - alexander is also good but to sell out for versace is not my taste, might forgive him soon though ;) - then rather do like hedi.
To bad you cant get a hold on RG items in Denmark. :(
